In order to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, a celebration was organized at Impetus Kids preschool for Children. All children came in traditional dresses. Some children came dressed in as Krishna and Radha and others in different colorful outfits. They wore Peacock feather head-gears and decorated flutes. Children danced to the beats of Janmashtami songs filling the air with joy and festive spirit. A Dahi-handi – ‘Matki Phod’ event was also organized to mark the mischievous nature of ‘Bal Krishna” The great zeal and enthusiasm we celebrated Janmashtami with can be seen in these pics. Festivals are a celebratory way to honor our glorious heritage, culture, and traditions. India is a land of festivals and every festival has its own significance and meaning.
In school, celebrating festivals gives us ample opportunities to teach our children important life skills, expose them to ancestral culture, values and traditions. Our busy schedules keep us away from our close friends and relatives, festivals bring us together. It gives a good time to rejoice and build strong bonds between everyone. Make it interesting by narrating inspirational stories behind each festival. This will create an opportunity to instill values in our children by teaching them about the difference between right and wrong and the subsequent outcome. The overall change in the routine during festive times gets children excited and this gives us a chance to bring in a lot of learning their way.
